An Obligatory 'About Me'

Tim Prizer
"I am the old Kentucky home /
I am the son who runs the farthest"
-- Joe Pug, "Hymn #35"
I collect vinyl and can't afford it. I'm a husband and a father and an uncle. I'm a son and a brother. Born in Macon, raised in Winston-Salem, realized in Atlanta. I live in Kamloops, British Columbia. I love the American South. I despise the American South. I'm a refugee of a country that has lost its way. I have a masters degree in a field called Folklore and so I wear an orange apron to work every day. I love my job. I love the Braves. I forgive the Falcons. I eagerly wait for the Hawks to give me a reason to care, and for the Thrashers to return. I was brought up on Born in the USA, Money for Nothin', Little Pink Houses, 90s country, Ill Communication, bohemian folk, and Cobainian-Vedderian grunge. I'm an alt-country purist snob. Yeah well you know gray is my favorite color (favourite colour?), and I felt so symbolic yesterday. I have a gray Gretsch guitar named Picasso, which I try and fail to play with the delicacy of Neil Young and the ferocity of Crazy Horse. I want to read all the books. I hate to read.
One day, I might just figure it out.
Don't bet your boots.
